2015 EDITION
The information in this guide was updated by the authors in January 2015.
The Ten Best Day Trips from London is a practical guide to the most popular attractions in England that can be easily reached and enjoyed in one day. It focuses on the practical information, telling you how to get to your destination by train, by coach, or by driving - and recommends the best choice to make. For all ten destinations there are direct links to coach and bus timetables, the cheapest fares, and direct booking options for tickets. This travel guide, written by two of the UK’s leading travel experts, also recommends the best things to see and do in each destination, with links to websites for opening hours and admission prices.
The guide is 27,000 words long, which is roughly equivalent to a printed book of 130-140 pages. It also includes 41 colour photos and 11 colour locator maps, showing you where every place is in relation to London. It’s published by the team behind the successful Beyond London Travel website, which specialises in practical information on how to get to places from London, and what to do when you get there.
The authors have chosen the most popular day trips from London based on surveys of visitors to London by various tourist organisations, and these are
•Bath
•Brighton
•Cambridge
•Canterbury
•Oxford
•Salisbury and Stonehenge
•Stratford-upon-Avon
•Winchester
•Windsor
•York
